A note on discounts

We price fairly from the start, which is why we rarely run discounts or promotions. When we do, we’re often giving up our entire margin and that would put us out of business very quickly. Many brands solve for this by building discounts into their retail prices from the beginning, so even after a 20% or 30% discount, they still earn a healthy profit. Our pricing approach is different as we believe in pricing to be consumer-friendly and straightforward from day one.

That’s why we’re sharing this. We know we live in a discount-driven culture, and we get asked for discounts often. But for us to offer discounts, in this scenario, we’d have to raise the Petite New Yorker to $995 just to wind up around the same place after a markdown. But we believe you should get great value up front, without the markup games.
