All about Preorders
Preorders are an important part of our business model, helping us manage demand, maintain steady inventory, and reduce stock outages. They also align with our sustainability commitments, as we are conscious of the role we play as responsible producers. Preorders allow us to reduce waste and avoid overproducing, which has a negative impact on the environment. Overproduction is not our jam.
In addition, preorder cycles offer an exclusive opportunity to secure certain high-demand styles that may not otherwise be available. When you preorder, you’re ensuring something special is crafted just for you, making it a truly unique and personal experience.
While many of our items are available for immediate purchase and shipping, some high-demand products may only be attained by preordering. These items are clearly marked as a preorder on the product page with expected ship by date, so you always have all the information you need.
Here’s everything you need to know about our preorder process.
WHY DO WE DO PREORDERS?
Our goods are the antithesis of fast fashion. Each piece is meticulously handcrafted by Italian artisans who pour immense pride and expertise into their craft. This process often takes 3 to 5 months and reflects our commitment to creating products that are built to last. We believe that taking the time to do it well is always worth it.
Preordering allows us to reserve your desired item just for you, embodying a thoughtful and intentional approach to luxury that prioritizes quality over speed.
When a high-demand style sells out and a restock is in progress, we open it for preorder. This not only guarantees you access to the upcoming stock but also eliminates the need to rush for a restock or monitor specific restock dates. Preordering offers an exclusive, thoughtful, and seamless way to secure the items you love, making the experience as special as the product itself.
PREORDER DATES
Each item available for preorder has a specific preorder date clearly displayed on the product page (see example below). This date is the earliest we expect to receive the inventory from our factory partners and have it ready for shipping. For example, if an item's preorder date is September 30th, we cannot ship it before this date. Please be sure you are aware of and comfortable with this date prior to placing your order.
PLACING YOUR PREORDER
We recommend placing your preorder as soon as possible rather than waiting for the item to be restocked. High-demand items may not be available outside of the preorder cycle. For instance, if we order 500 units of an item for September and all preorders are claimed, there will be no additional stock available upon arrival, and a new preorder date will be set for December.
PAYMENT
Please note that your payment method will be charged at the time you place your preorder. This is the only way we can confirm your preorder.
RELIABILITY AND COMMUNICATION
We provide conservative preorder timelines and successfully meet them 95% of the time. However, in the rare 5% of cases where delays occur, they are typically due to factors beyond our control related to the nature of global manufacturing and logistics.
For example, in the aftermath of the pandemic, disruptions in global logistics caused goods to be stuck in transit for months. Even today, while we ship exclusively by air to minimize delays, unexpected customs issues can arise. For instance, a recent shipment was randomly selected for a detailed inspection at JFK airport, adding nine days to the clearance process.
Additionally, if our own thorough quality inspection upon arrival reveals that items in a shipment do not meet our meticulous standards or have been damaged in transit, we may proactively delay shipping to ensure you receive a product that meets our commitment to excellence.
In the rare event we are unable to fulfill your preorder within six weeks of the originally communicated date, we will work with you directly to provide alternate options or issue a full refund, guaranteed. Your satisfaction is always our #1 priority, and we are dedicated to ensuring a positive resolution.
CANCELATION POLICY
Preorders cannot be canceled once placed. However, in the unlikely event that we are unable to fulfill a preorder, we will cancel it on our end and refund you in full.
A NOTE ON SOLD OUT ITEMS
If an item simply indicates "SOLD OUT" and does not have a preorder label, it means we do not have an active restock order with our factory for that item. This could be due to low demand or because we are phasing out the item. We keep sold-out items visible to assess demand. If a sold-out item receives enough requests for restock, we may then decide to restock it and make it available for preorder.
