New here?
We’re Glad You’re Here. Let’s Get Acquainted.
Silver & Riley was born out of both love and frustration. A love for beautifully made products, and frustration with how far the luxury industry had drifted from its original promise.
We noticed an industry shift. Quality at many legacy brands was declining, even as prices kept rising. Customers were paying more and receiving less. That didn’t sit right with us.
Most major luxury brands today operate under three large conglomerates with complex cost structures. These brands spend heavily on celebrity endorsements, glossy ad campaigns, and massive retail operations. By the time a bag reaches a retail shelf, 70–90% of what you're paying for is the branding and overhead, not the product itself.
Furthermore, to cut costs, many of these companies also rely on global supply chains that stretch across multiple countries. While it may lower expenses, it often leads to shortcuts and inconsistent quality. On top of that, many no longer design with the needs of real customers in mind. The industry has largely shifted toward aesthetics only, leaving function behind.
We created Silver & Riley as a smarter, more thoughtful alternative. We asked ourselves: what if we could deliver exquisitely made products that rival, or surpass, the world’s top luxury houses, while also solving real, everyday needs?
So that’s what we did. We work with expert artisans in Italy, use high-grade materials, and produce in small batches so we can focus on craftsmanship and care at every step. Every design is built to be functional, timeless, and lasting.
Silver & Riley exists for people who expect more and know they deserve better. That’s the standard we hold ourselves to, and the one we’re proud to offer.
Get to Know Us
Every Silver & Riley piece begins with a design challenge. We ask ourselves: how can this bag look beautiful AND actually solve problems for the person carrying it? From there, we work closely with our artisans to bring the vision to life.
Our bags are produced in limited runs inside small Italian workshops known for their attention to detail. We use premium materials sourced from trusted tanneries, along with custom hardware and durable, high performance linings. Every bag is handmade by artisans who care deeply about what they do.
Because we don’t mass-produce, we’re able to maintain a high level of quality control and ensure that every piece meets the standard we promise our customers.
“Made in Italy” is one of the most respected labels in the fashion world, but not all uses of the term reflect the same level of craftsmanship.
Under European regulations, a brand can legally claim “Made in Italy” status if final assembly happens there, even if most of the components were produced in other countries. That technicality has led to widespread use of the label without the quality people assume it represents.
At Silver & Riley, we are 100% Made in Italy, not just in name but in practice. Every bag is designed, cut, stitched, assembled, and finished in small family-run factories in Tuscany, Italy. All our leather, hardware, linings, zippers, and finishing touches are sourced directly through our Italian production partners. The only exception is our thread, which we source from Gütermann, a German brand known globally for its durability and excellence.
Our leather comes from certified Italian tanneries and is primarily sourced from cowhides that originate in Europe and South America. Leather hides can be produced all over the world, but what makes Italian leather unique is the tanning process. Italy has centuries of expertise in this craft, blending traditional techniques with modern innovation to create leather that is soft, strong, richly colored, and built to age beautifully over time.
For the kind of pieces we create; timeless, functional, and luxurious, we found the Italian process to be the best fit. It offers the highest level of quality, consistency, and finish. That’s why we choose to manufacture every component of our bags in Italy and why we stand firmly behind the integrity of our production process.
When we say “Made in Italy,” we mean it in the truest, most uncompromising way.
Luxury, to us, is defined by thoughtfulness and standards. It’s about the quality of the materials, the intention behind the design, and the experience delivered from end to end.
We created Silver & Riley in direct response to what we were seeing across the luxury space. Too many brands have deprioritized product integrity in favor of marketing scale. Customers are often paying premium prices for brand names, not for craftsmanship or construction.
We do things differently. We use the finest full-grain leather, partner with skilled Italian artisans, and design every piece to deliver real function in everyday life. There is nothing performative about our process. Every detail exists for a reason, and every bag is made to earn its place in your life for years to come.
We started as frustrated consumers. We loved luxury, but we were tired of being disappointed by beautiful branding wrapped around products that didn’t last, prices that felt disconnected from quality and by how few brands actually cared about the people they were creating for.
So we built something different. We don’t follow trends, and we don’t chase volume. We design pieces that serve a purpose, and we make them the right way, with better materials, better craftsmanship, and better outcomes for the people involved.
We are independently owned, so we are better able to answer to our mission without the constant margin pressure.
And we reinvest back into our community through grants, community impact programs, and a commitment to ethical practices at every level.
Silver & Riley was founded by Lola Banjo, a former corporate strategist who walked away from a high-level role in corporate America to build the kind of brand she wished existed. She invested her own life savings, studied the luxury supply chain from the inside out, and spent years refining every detail before launching the company.
Lola’s story is one of faith, discipline, and unwavering vision. She’s traveled to over 100 countries and brings a global point of view to everything she creates. Her goal has always been to build a brand legacy that reflects excellence, cultural richness, and generational impact.

OUR VALUES
To us, being ethical means doing business in a way that honors people, craft, and truth. That starts with how we make our products. We partner only with small, family-run factories in Italy that pay fair wages, maintain safe working conditions, and treat artisans with dignity.
We are also transparent about what goes into our bags, how they’re priced, and why. We don't cut corners to reduce cost, and we don’t inflate our prices just because we can. Every decision is made with long-term integrity in mind, not just short-term margin.
Ethical, to us, also means respecting our customers. That includes delivering on our promises and standing behind what we make.
Sustainability is integral to our brand ethos. We approach it through thoughtful design, ethical sourcing, responsible manufacturing, and transparency.
Our leathers are sourced from tanneries that adhere to strict environmental standards, utilizing vegetable tanning methods that reduce harmful chemicals and water consumption. We produce exclusively in Italy, where ethical leather creation is strictly enforced, ensuring fair labor practices and safe working conditions.
Our factories implement lean manufacturing practices to minimize waste and invest in energy-efficient technologies. By sourcing components regionally, we reduce transportation emissions and support local economies.
Transparency is key. We commit to sharing our manufacturing processes, regularly publishing our sustainability initiatives, and seeking third-party certifications to hold ourselves accountable.
To extend the life of our products, we offer a repair program, encouraging customers to mend rather than discard. Additionally, our "zero-waste" philosophy includes small-batch production and quarterly sales of slightly imperfect items, embracing the unique character of each piece.
Sustainability, for us, is about creating products that are not only beautiful and functional but also responsibly made and enduring.
The Buy 1, Give 5™ is our social impact initiative, where 5% of every sale goes toward funding grants for women-owned businesses.
Our goal is to help at least 1,000 women start, grow, or scale their companies by 2030. We know firsthand how difficult it is to raise capital, especially for women of color, and we want to be part of the solution.
When you buy a Silver & Riley product, you're not just investing in yourself. You're helping fuel another woman’s dream. That’s what it means to build with purpose.
Orders, Products & Styling
If you’re ordering an in-stock item, we typically ship within 1–3 business days from our warehouse. Delivery timing depends on your location and chosen shipping method.
If you’re placing a preorder, the estimated ship date will be listed on the product page. Please be sure to be comfortable with this timeline prior to placing a preorder.
Preorders are an essential part of how we operate and one of the reasons we’re able to maintain exceptional quality without compromising our values.
Because we produce in small, intentional batches, many of our most popular styles consistently sell out. In fact, certain styles can only be purchased through preorder because demand always exceeds supply. Preordering allows you to guarantee securing your piece from an upcoming shipment.
This model also allows us to reduce waste, manage inventory responsibly, and avoid overproduction aligning with our commitment to sustainability.
When you place a preorder, we provide an estimated shipping date on the product page (e.g. Your bag will ship to you around 5/31/2025). Over 95% of the time, we ship by or roughly around that date. However, in some cases, certain factors may occasionally cause delays, such as customs issues, production setbacks, or international shipping slowdowns.
If, for any reason, we are unable to fulfill your preorder within six weeks of the estimated ship date and you’re no longer willing to wait, we will gladly offer an alternative or issue a full refund. Your trust means everything to us, and we believe in honoring it at every step.
We’re proud that the majority of our preorder clients return for future purchases. While it requires a little more patience, we always work hard to make sure It Is always worth your wait.
Yes, we ship worldwide. We’re proud to serve Silver & Riley clients in 27 countries and counting.
Shipping rates and delivery times will vary depending on your destination and shipping preference. Duties and taxes may apply depending on your country’s regulations, and those are typically assessed at checkout or upon delivery.
If your order didn’t quite work out, no worries. We offer both refunds and exchanges. You can find the full details on our Returns & Exchanges page.
Because we produce in small batches and price our products fairly from the start, we seldom run promotions. However, we occasionally may offer limited-time events or exclusive pricing for newsletter subscribers and longtime clients.
We also host quarterly events like our Sustainability, Sample and Warehouse Sale (SSW), which gives slightly imperfect or archival pieces a second chance at life at reduced prices. Join our email list or follow us on social to be the first to know.
A few of our pieces have earned cult-favorite status over the years. Our Convertible Executive Bag is a consistent bestseller, known for its 4-in-1 functionality and refined silhouette that works just as well for business travel as it does for everyday life.
The New Yorker Bag is also a client favorite, with its timeless shape, standout colorways, and spacious interior. Many clients collect it in multiple colors.
Our Beverly Hills Carryall Duffles often sell out during preorder because of their elevated design and practicality for travel. If a product is consistently unavailable, it's usually because it sells out quickly once restocked.
You can explore our full collection on the site, and feel free to reach out if you’re deciding between styles—we’re happy to help.
We name our bags after cities and neighborhoods as a reflection of our founder’s global experiences and deep love for travel. Each name carries a sense of place, energy, and individuality that mirrors the personality of the bag itself.
From the boldness of the New Yorker to the effortless sophistication of the Beverly Hills Carryall, our bag names are stories that represent places that have inspired us, shaped us, or captured the essence of the people we design for.
It’s our way of honoring the world that moves us, and creating pieces that move with you.
